Web design questions, answered

What a website costs, how long it takes, who owns it and how we work. If your question is not here, write to us and we will answer it.

Pricing and payment

How much does a website cost?

Landing pages start from $200, UI/UX design from $500, a full small business website from $600, custom web development from $1,000 and mobile apps from $2,000. Website maintenance starts from $90 a month. The exact figure depends on pages and features, and you see a free working draft before you decide.

When do I pay?

50% to begin the build and 50% at launch, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Maintenance plans are billed monthly and can be cancelled monthly. You pay nothing to see the first draft.

Is the first draft really free?

Yes. It is a real, working, deployed link you can open on your phone, not a mockup. If you like it, we build the rest. If you do not, you keep the draft and owe nothing. There is no contract to see it.

Are there costs beyond your price?

Third-party costs, such as your domain name, a hosting plan or a paid plugin, are paid by you directly to the provider so the accounts stay in your name. We tell you what they will be before you commit.

Process and timing

How fast do I get the first draft?

Within 6 to 12 hours of agreeing the brief. A brief sent in the evening usually has a working link by morning.

How long does a full website take?

A landing page ships within 24 hours of brief approval. A complete small business website is usually live within one to two weeks. A focused app MVP takes one to two weeks of design and three to six weeks of build.

What do you need from me to start?

A short brief: what the business does, who your customers are, what you want visitors to do, and a few sites you like or dislike. Content and logos help if you have them, but you do not need them to see a first draft.

How do revisions work?

We refine the draft with you until the direction is right. Your quote states how many revision rounds are included, and we say so clearly if a request falls outside it.

How do we communicate?

By email, by default, so there is a written record of every decision. We can also talk by call or message. To arrange a call, send a meeting request and we will email you to agree a time.

Ownership and technology

Do I own my website?

Yes. On final payment you own the deliverables. We deploy to hosting and domain accounts in your name, so nothing is held hostage. We keep the right to show the work in our portfolio unless you ask us not to.

What do you build websites with?

Next.js, React and TypeScript by default, with a headless CMS or file-based content so you can edit it yourself. We use WordPress case by case, when it is genuinely the better fit for your team.

Do you use templates?

No. Custom work starts from your business, not from a template. If a template suits your budget better, we will say so and adapt one from our collection of 25, from $250.

Can I edit the website myself?

Yes. Editable content is a requirement from day one, and handover includes a recorded walkthrough of how to change text, images and pages.

Working with a studio in Dhaka

Who will work on my project?

The people who run the studio: Iftekhar Newaz, Founder & CEO, and Anika Mehjabin, COO & CMO, with a small group of senior developers. There is no account manager in between.

Do you work with clients outside Bangladesh?

Yes. We work with businesses in Bangladesh, the US, the UK, the EU and the Gulf. Dhaka's time zone often means a draft lands overnight while you are asleep.

Which languages do you work in?

English and Bangla. We build bilingual websites with proper Bengali typefaces and a clean language switch.

When was Northcave Studio started?

In 2026. It began as freelance work on an online platform and grew into a small studio building websites and software for small businesses and agencies.

Search, redesigns and after launch

Will my website rank on Google?

Every site ships with the groundwork: fast pages, clear titles and descriptions, structured data and a sitemap. Rankings beyond that depend on competition and content, and take months. We do not guarantee positions, and nobody honest can.

Can you redesign my existing website?

Yes. Send us the address and you get a redesigned homepage as a free draft. We map your old page addresses to the new ones so your search traffic carries over. See website redesign services.

Can you build an online shop?

Yes. We build e-commerce websites with product pages, a cart and checkout, and the payment methods your customers use: SSLCommerz, bKash, Nagad and bank transfer. Pricing is per project after the free draft.

Do you look after the site after launch?

Yes. Maintenance plans start from $90 a month and cover updates, backups, uptime monitoring and a developer who knows your site. They are month to month, with no lock-in.
